I always saw Engineer as someone who took care of the little tyke. Though I've seen Demo and Soldier used in the same way to a lesser extent. Sniper is always the one characterized as the one with the least compassion that doesn't actually border on visceral hatred (see Medic). Though I can see why someone could use Sniper as Scout's foster father figure. The man is completely in control and his skills shine because of it. He's wrestled alligators bigger than his van and lived to tell the tale. He's a "modern"-day adventurer in a sense and that can be extraordinarily impressive for a boy who has known nothing but a cramped apartment in downtown Boston.
The way I see it, Sniper hides his emotions most of the time. After all, his job requires an emotional distance. Though, deep down somewhere, he's not so shoot-and-sleep-peacefully. I can see him secretly wanting to be a role-model or a good friend to someone. I imagine, due to certain family reasons and his current profession, his dad really doesn't like him and his mom is much more compassionate. Maybe his childhood was rocky and unstable, making him secretly crave for someone to latch onto.
While everyone else on their team has been marked by years and experience, Scout is the youngest and the most innocent of a lot of things. Since Scout was the youngest of eight boys in a home where they were all raised by a single mom, he kinda sometimes got the short end of the stick. I can see his mom attempting to marry, then just totally end in disaster. Since Scout was the youngest, he probably got overlooked a bunch of times; neglected to a point. Maybe one of his older brothers filled the gap, but once he got the TF job, there was no one really to look up to. He's a bit needy that way, and despite what he lets on, he's desperate to please.
I bet these two would somehow start a friendship and it would grow from there. Scout and Sniper might hang out after combat has been called off for the day or weekend. Maybe they would play some cards, or just talk, or perhaps just roughhouse.
Well, excuse me while I get rid of this ladyboner.
This is beautiful, the lighting is perfect, soft, fuzzy. When I saw that I immediately thought of that nicca11y comic, and this is a perfect recreation. Sniper looks perfect. You did such a great job! The posing looks so natural!
